Found by search

An AI assistant can only cite a page its search engine has found. Google's index feeds AI Overviews, AI Mode and Gemini; ChatGPT search and Copilot draw on Bing; Claude's web search is reported to use Brave. Found by search checks each of your pages in all three.

Where to see it

Website → Health → Sitemap shows a Found by search line and three columns: In Google, In Bing and In Brave. Each page is Found, Not found, Left out (for example when Google picked another page as the main one) or Couldn't check. Click a page to see each engine's answer, such as when Google last crawled it.

The line also lists your sitemaps as Google reads them, with any errors.

Echo checks every Sunday, key pages first, or when you click Check now.

What you need

  • Google: connect Google Search Console. Required for the Google column.
  • Bing: connect Bing Webmaster Tools (below). Required for the Bing column.
  • Brave: nothing to set up.

Connect Bing

  1. Open Bing Webmaster Tools and sign in. Add and verify your site if it isn't there yet; you can import it from Google Search Console.
  2. Click the gear (Settings) at the top right, then API access → API Key → Generate API Key, and copy it.
  3. In Echo, go to Settings → Connections → Bing and paste it. Echo checks it with Bing and never shows it again.

IndexNow

IndexNow tells Bing and other search engines about new and changed pages right away. Set it up under Settings → Connections → Bing: Echo makes a key file, you put it on your site, and Echo checks it. From then on, pages Echo sends to Framer, Webflow or WordPress, and Sitemap changes, are announced automatically.

Actions

A key page that a search engine doesn't have becomes an action with the reason and the fix, as does a sitemap with errors. They close by themselves once the page is found.
