Metrics explained

Every number in Echo is counted from the answers it stored, for the date range, assistants and markets you picked in the top bar. Each number also shows its change against the period before of the same length.

Visibility

The share of answers that mention your brand. If 40 answers came back and 14 name you, visibility is 35%. Competitors' visibility is worked out the same way.

Visibility by demand weights each prompt by how often people search for its terms, so "AI names you in 38% of answers, which covers 35% of the demand" tells you whether you're winning the questions that matter most.

Share of voice

Your mentions divided by the mentions of every tracked brand (you plus your competitors). Each brand counts at most once per answer, so share of voice adds up to 100% across them.

Average position

In each answer, the tracked brands are ordered by where they're first mentioned: 1 is first. Average position is your average over the answers that name you. Lower is better.

Sentiment

The tone towards a brand in each answer that names it: positive, neutral or negative. Shown as the share that is positive, with a small bar for all three.

Citation share

The share of all cited pages that point to your own website. Every cited site is sorted as yours, a competitor's or a third party's; subdomains count as their main domain.

Citation rate

The share of answers that cite one of your pages. On Topics it places each topic in the "Where to act" quadrant, and on Sitemap it shows which pages AI uses.

Missed opportunity

A prompt whose latest answer doesn't mention you. Prompts where a competitor is named instead come first.

AI Overview shown

How often Google showed an AI Overview for your prompts: overviews divided by searches. Searches without an overview aren't counted in visibility.

Changes

Percentages change in points ("+4 pts"); position changes as a plain number, where lower is better. Green means better, red means worse. "No earlier data" means the period before had no answers.

Visits from AI

Visits whose link came from an AI assistant, counted by the Echo tag or Google Analytics, one source per week, never both added. Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode send visitors from google.com and can't be told apart from search, so they're never counted as AI visits. See Results.
